CV Pod

What our labels mean

Every label says who checked what.

And what wasn't checked. “Self-declared” never looks like “Confirmed”, and status is never shown by colour alone.

Verified real person

Verified real person
Who checked
Our verification provider, once, when the candidate did the real-person check.
What was checked
That a photo ID document and a live selfie matched, at the time of the check. Employers see the verified name and nothing from the ID.
What was not
It isn't a background, criminal record, right-to-work, reference, skills or character check. It doesn't verify who speaks in later recordings, and we don't run deepfake detection.

Verified company

Verified company
Who checked
CV Pod, using the public company register.
What was checked
A business email domain and a company number (ABN, NZBN or Companies House) that is active on the register.
What was not
It doesn't mean the company's jobs are real or that it treats staff well. Its reply record is where you see how it behaves.

Self-declared

Self-declared
Who checked
Nobody else. The candidate stands behind it.
What was checked
That the candidate added this proof item and says it is true.
What was not
Nobody has vouched for it. That's honest, not a failure. If a referee declined, employers also see this label. Only the candidate is told about the decline.

Awaiting referee

Awaiting referee
Who checked
A request is out to a person the candidate named.
What was checked
That a referee has been emailed a single-use link, which lasts 14 days.
What was not
Nothing is confirmed yet. If the referee doesn't answer in 14 days, the item goes back to Self-declared.

Confirmed by [role]

Confirmed by former manager
Who checked
The named referee, by clicking Confirm on a link sent to the email address the candidate gave.
What was checked
That this person, in their honest view, says the claim is right. Employers see the referee's name, the role they were named as, and the date.
What was not
We don't verify the referee's job title or employer. It proves someone controlled that email address.

Edited by referee

Edited by referee
Who checked
The named referee, who changed the wording before confirming.
What was checked
That the referee confirmed the claim in their own words. Employers see the referee's wording.
What was not
The candidate's original wording stays private to them. We don't check either version.

Recorded in CV Pod

Recorded in CV Pod by [name] on [date]
Who checked
CV Pod's recorder.
What was checked
That the answer was a live take made in our recorder, with no upload, trimming or filters.
What was not
It doesn't prove who is speaking beyond the real-person check at sign-up. Transcripts are made automatically and may have mistakes. The recording is what they said.

AI helped me write this

AI helped me write this: Yes / No
Who checked
The candidate, who answers yes or no. There is no default.
What was checked
Whether the candidate used AI to help write their plain CV. It sits beside the CV in the same size text.
What was not
It's disclosure only. It never filters, orders or marks anyone down, and it has no warning colour.

Paused

Pod paused by the candidate
Who checked
The candidate, or the CV Pod safety team while a report is checked.
What was checked
That nobody can open the Pod right now. A candidate pause doesn't stop an employer's pledge clock. A CV Pod pause holds related deadlines.
What was not
It doesn't mean anything is wrong with the person. A pause by CV Pod is a check, not a finding.

Reply record

100% answered · 3.1 days average · 0 breaches
Who checked
Computed by CV Pod from every counted application. Nobody types it in.
What was checked
Percentage answered, average days to reply, jobs closed without a hire, and pledge breaches. Shown from 5 counted applicants.
What was not
It measures replying, not hiring fairness or workplace quality. No one can edit or delete an entry, including us, and paying never changes it.
